This Is Just Plain Wrong

Kurt Cobain, Joey Ramone, Joe Strummer & Sid Vicious are selling Doc Martens.

Kurt Cobain, Sid Vicious, Joey Ramone and Joe Strummer have been reported to all appear as angels wearing the famous boots. Writer Andrew Petch said the following of the add campaign:

"We wanted to communicate that Dr. Martens boots are ‘made to last,’ and we discovered that these idolized musicians wore them. Showing them still wearing their Docs in heaven dramatized the boots’ durability perfectly. And, as images, they feel very iconic."
According to the article at the Daily Swarm the images have been cleared for use in the U.K. only, in an arrangement with Corbis, supplier of the original photographs, which have been enhanced by photographer Dimitri Daniloff and retoucher Christophe Huet.

I'm hoping this is a late April Fools joke.

They don't last - your big toe goes through the top after a few months. Well, the shoes, anyway.

Sid Vicious in heaven?

That's what I was thinking! (the Sid part)

Hi D. Prince,
Why do the guys need Dr. Martens boots anyway? It looks like pretty cushy walking on all those clouds…flip flops would be enough for their feet, I would think.

I am wondering when Courtney Love is going to sue.

I wouldn't be surprised if she gave her consent. She's already sold a few of Kurt's songs to video game companies.

I apologize MC. I just read that Courtney is indeed PISSED.

kind of makes my skin crawl. I think 'necromantic' is the word: Conjuring the spirits of the dead to influence the course of events. Like, selling boots, for example.

Yeah, work and image are two different things. Having your song in a video game is a lot more respectable than it used to be.
