Wow kids shows have changed. My daughter would foam at the mouth with boredom if forced to watch this show. I found it very soothing though.

Prunella: The Friendly Giant was very soothing. My favourite along with Mr. Dressup.

Pamer: Jerome was one of the coolest characters ever to be on TV. He had the best voice.

Jacqueline: The cow over the moon and the rocking chair were my favourites!

Hi D. Prince,
This is a delightful post! It’s a shame that the majority of today’s youngsters would no doubt scoff that this type of programming. I found it extremely serene and peaceful. Could you tell me how old it is? I’m a bit long-in-the-tooth (read: OLD), but don’t ever remember seeing anything like this on television when I was a kid.

Thanks for a few special moments!

If you go to the CBC headquarters in Toronto, you can see the original sets and puppets. And...the Tickle Trunk.

I never watched the show, growing up in England and all that, but the Mr. did and he loved it.

It's on our list of things to do the next time we are in Toronto.

Thanks

oh kowy...tsk tsk tsk...teh tickle truck is from Mr. Dressup not Friendly. Friendly would reach into Rusty's bag for stuff.

I know it's from Mr. Dressup. But to me, both shows just OOZE CBC.
