Shelters spend a lot of $ to rehab animals and give them to certain people. She should not have given that dog away OR cry about it for sympathy on her show. Ellen is so ignorant.
I can see both sides of this issue. When I adopted my dog it certainly was made very clear to me that I had to return her to the SPCA if it didn't work out.
I posted this more for her INSANE reaction.! I've seen people who have lost human loved ones tragically that had more restraint.
When I got my dog, same thing, signed an agreement that if I couldn't keep her I'd have to give her back. I also signed an agreement that I'd have her neutered (or is it spade with girls...whatever).
Personally, I was thankful to be getting a dog from someone who cared enough about what happened to her after she left the kennel. Someone who didn't want her to go from my hands (who she had met) to some strangers home.
I think it's kind of ridiculous that Ellen signed this contract and then 'forgot' that clause. I also think it's ridiculous that this hoo-ha is over the fact that the dog had been in the family's home for two weeks.
Two weeks? Jesus, I was under the assumption that it had been months and months.
I sympathize with the children, but honestly, COME ON....

Christ. You know, you give a celebrity a mic and their own TV show and they just run with it, don't they?
Ummm ... and why wasn't that a phone call or personal visit to the organization in question?
Has Ellen been on The Simpsons yet? She could be the person who says "please, won't someone think about the children!"
After I saw this clip I SO want my own show! Oh, the material I have.
