Comic Artist Alex Toth Dies

The veteran animator died at his home in California last week.

His son, Eric, said Toth had been in failing health for years, and died while seated at his drawing board.

Toth worked as a comic book artist in San Jose, California, in the 1950s, before moving to Hanna Barbera where he stayed throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

His other work at the legendary animation studio included characters for The Superfriends, Jonny Quest and The Herculoids.

Truly talented artist. I love The Superfriends. He will be missed.

I think that's the best way to go, while doing something you love instead of in a hospital somewhere.
